Salted Honey and Lavender Sourdough

This one was impressed by WoodenSpoon @ thefreshloaf on this submit . I had a little bit of contemporary lavender rising and the rains of early summer season made me do that one. Some data was lacking from the unique submit and varied individuals have adopted up with their very own bakes however so far as I may see no person had truly posted a full recipe / calculation for the bread so….

FULL RECIPE AND CALCULATIONS HERE

I additionally had to do that in a brand new oven. My present one died with an error code and would now not use the oven operate. The price to repair it was a bit too excessive and the time too lengthy for my style so I additionally get to current my new combo steam oven microwave!

I used to be a bit frightened as a result of as with all time you bake in a brand new oven you haven't any clue the way it will carry out. Fortunately this one is a champ.

More than happy with the bake on this one general….however what about the remaining?

Tasting Notes: I am puzzled truthfully. The lavender scent is nice and the flavour is there within the background as a lightweight floral. You probably have ever had a Lavender Macaron (the french sort not the coconut sort)….that is the flavour…however much less sturdy and with out the sweetness. I loved the primary slice with butter however stood on the counter perplexed. I am not upset about this bread. I do not hate it. In honesty I am nonetheless making an attempt to determine what it is use case for. It is such a novel taste that I am certain in the appropriate software it will shine and be wonderful…I simply have not discovered what that's but. My partner tried it with some honey and an additional little sprinkle of salt and it was good however they're in the identical sort of puzzlement. After some dialogue we predict that it is likely to be greatest on a flowery picnic within the countryside with a tender white cheese, honey, possibly fig jam. Tomorrow I am going to need to attempt it with a little bit of cream cheese and jam or honey.

Time/Effort: 3 days (Rising Levain, Mixing Dough, Baking) Regular for sourdough for my course of.

Would I make it once more: Actually, I do not know. I would wish a really particular use for this to do it once more and I have never discovered that but.  I am glad I attempted it, and I'll proceed to attempt it with completely different toppings…possibly some candied lemon peal…perpetually perplexed on this one.
