Sebastian Maniscalco on Extending His “It Ain’t Right” Tour: An Exclusive Interview | Arts & Entertainment

“The production is a lot different than what we’ve seen in the past from me,” Maniscalco shared with the New York Post in an unique interview in regards to the tour. “What I decided to do was reconfigure the stage and bring it lower to the ground in case I want to dip into the stage and come back. It’s a more intimate environment for me as a performer.”

At all reveals, Maniscalco highlights the absurdities of recent life like nonexistent manners, hovering costs, and the chaos of spending each waking second on social media.

“Comedy is something people are yearning and thirsting for, especially with a political campaign on the horizon and people so divided,” he added. “My comedy is rooted in family and observation, and I’ve always believed that if people are coming to a comedy show, they want an escape from the world news, the killings, the politics — this, that, and the other thing. That’s what I pride myself on.”

‘It Ain’t Right’ reveals can even contact on popular culture (which isn’t frequent for the comic), together with content material that’s positive to resonate — no matter whether or not or not you’re Italian.

“I once did a bit about going to an Italian wedding with cash and, when I was in the editing room, I thought, ‘I don’t know if I want to keep this in the special because I’m not sure if the broader audience,'” Maniscalco shared. “But I discovered from comments online that it resonated with people who came from Greek families or other cultures. From there, I realized I can talk about my personal life, my Italian father from Sicily and my culture for the masses.”
