A reclusive novelist is trying to conquer her author’s block however unexpectedly finds a connection within the trailer for Netflix‘s Lonely Planet.
In the movie, starring Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth, Dern portrays author Katherine, who travels to a prestigious author’s retreat in Morocco hoping that the distant setting will assist remedy her author’s block to complete her ebook. However, issues take a flip when she unexpectedly meets Owen (Hemsworth), who can be on the retreat together with his girlfriend. The two finally develop a detailed connection as they spend extra time collectively.
“I think the point of travel is to show us the tiny place we occupy in the world,” Dern’s Katherine tells Hemsworth’s Owen. Later on, Owen is heard being advised, “When you’re stuck in life, you need to do something irrevocable.”
The finish of the trailer teases Katherine and Owen’s connection getting stronger, with Netflix teasing that the pair could have an “intoxicating, life-altering love affair.”
The movie is directed by Susannah Grant, who beforehand labored with the streamer on the drama sequence Unbelievable. Liza Chasin produces for 3dot Productions, which has a multiyear first-look take care of the streamer. Grant and Sarah Timberman can even produce, with Kira Goldberg set to supervise for Netflix.
