National Grid has given beneficiant donations to assist rebuilding within the Mohawk Valley following the twister that occurred in July.
An EF-2 twister, with gusts up to 135 mph, struck Rome, whereas an EF-1 twister with peak winds of 100 mph hit Canastota. Furthermore, extreme thunderstorms with excessive winds brought about important harm in Oneida and affected lives all through the Mohawk Valley.

In the aftermath of the storm, Oneida County established The Rome NY Emergency Response Fund by the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties to again restoration efforts by people and neighborhood teams.
