Former Houston police officer convicted in Harding Street raid trial taken away from courthouse in ambulance | News

HOUSTON, Texas – During the closing arguments in the sentencing part of the Harding Street homicide trial, Gerald Goines suffered a medical emergency and needed to be escorted out of the courtroom.

As prosecutors began their closing arguments throughout the sentencing part, Goines began exhibiting indicators of misery, together with heavy respiration whereas wanting visibly unwell. He motioned to a bailiff to assist him after which he was seen being held up by a number of officers and escorted out of the courtroom.

This incident prompted Judge Veronica Nelson to order a right away recess, stating that proceedings would resume after Goines’ well being was assessed.

Court officers escorted him from the courtroom, and he was then seen being transported by ambulance from the Harris County Criminal Courthouse.

KPRC 2 documented the scene, capturing photographs of Goines slumped over with medical gear connected to his chest.
